Polarman Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I received my 64bit version of Home Premium from M$ the other day. I have Home Premium 32bit (retail) installed right now.I wish they would have put them together like the Ultimate edition. Can't complain too much, i got it in less than a week.Just for the hell of it, i decided to put the other 2GB of ram that i got (all 4GB are model) . Holy bejezzus!! Vista reports 2479MB!!!Wow! I did not expect such a loss of memory. My test is done. This weekend, I'll reformat the entire system and install the 64bit version after a quick bios update.I've got all 64bit drivers ready and made sure that all my software is compatible. Hopefully, i will not run into any issues.
cluberti Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Take a quick look - this is usually a BIOS issue, and I'm interested to see what happens with x64 and a BIOS update.
Polarman Posted September 27, 2007 Author Posted September 27, 2007 I am aware of this issue. It was only a test.I will post a follow up when everything is up and running.
Polarman Posted September 29, 2007 Author Posted September 29, 2007 UPDATE:After the bios update and a couple of hours of Installing Vista 64bit with all my software (No games yet!), I am happy to say that everything is working flawlessly for now. Here's a pic that shows The 64bit OS with 4095MB of ram.
