nekon Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 (edited) Like the title a description say I'm tryin to make a stripped Windows XP x64 install for gaming. I plan on dedicating a whole partition to a gaming install. The reason I'm making this thread is that I've tried it on my own but not gotten it to work. I've become very familiar to nLite and know my way around pretty well. As for my attempts.. I'm lucky enough to be in the Crysis beta, after a clean install of my nlite stripped version of XP I get an error. The error is something about "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect", from some searching online I found Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package. I downloaded the x64 version of this file and tried to execute it but it freezes everytime.. During my search I also looked into how to fix the MS Update.. I did everything I could.. I even tried a few posts on this site, I tracked down seperate *.DLLs, but in the end nothing worked. So here I am.. I hope you guys can help, and thanks for any time any of you contribute.
