rdev Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Hi.My machine is a bit old, and is built around the i845GL chipset. I recently got myself a Seagate ST3200827A IDE hard disk, and installed it as the master on the primary IDE channel (the slave on the same is my older Samsung PL40-SP0411N).I wish to reinstall Windows XP Professional on my machine. The installation disk boots up fine, momentarily displays "Setup is inspecting your hardware configuration...", and then, the screen goes blank. The hard disk activity indicator on my casing, stays on solid. What's wrong with my system...?
gosh Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 bios, display, remove any external usb devices-gosh
eyeball Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 take out the old hard disk for now and any other peripherals and see if you still have problems installing it
