weEvil Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Supposedly my Ti4600 has the ability to capture video via the S-Video port in the back. So far I have used it to play video. How do I get it to capture/display video from a source like a DVD player?(I'm basically looking to display video appliances on my PC screen instead of a TV.)Also, I have been reading up and apparently there is some sort of 'dongle' to hook up to the S-Video port. (not really S-Video since it has some extra pins in there). The dongle is supposed to have an adaptor at the end to capture (or display) component.I know its an ancient card by today's standards, but any help would be appreciated.
Nerwin Posted September 18, 2007 Posted September 18, 2007 Well Most TV tuners offer software to capture video. Just do a Google search for Video capturing software. I'm sure there is free ones but you probably should just buy a really good one now as for the video card.. its not that old but if it has s-video it should be able to capture, I mean i had my PS2 hooked up to it once with a adapter thing ( don't remember what it was called hehe) More than likly you will just have to do a search on video capturing software or something like that. heres one that might work http://software.techrepublic.com.com/downl...px?docid=234556another: http://www.jhepple.com/video_capture_software.htmyou dont have to use them, just shows a little Google search you can find just about anything! I hope this helps.
weEvil Posted September 18, 2007 Author Posted September 18, 2007 Thanks for the response. Also, since I'll be using my PC as a crude 'VGA-Box'. Would there be any delay? To get from the videocard and be processed to display on screen? This would suck for PS2 and DVD watching. Since the audio and video would be out of sync for me. Hooking up the appliances straight to my speaker system.

Isn't a GeForce 4 Ti 4600 just a higher clocked GeForce 4 Ti? Kind of like GTX vs. GTS?
