martins
Hi,I have a problem right now that Word 2003 (11.5604.5606) resets some settings every time I open the program. I am using windows Vista Home Premium. With some settings I mean:- custom button in Toolbar- Caption labels- Caption numbering setting- added add-insIt is annoying to set these every time I open Word.In my previous experiences with Word 2003 in XP, these settings are saved and I only have to set them once. How can I set it for good in vista (if it has something to do with vista)?Thank you in advance.
spacesurfer
Try this solution. Get your settings the way you want on another computer if available. Then, close Word. Then go to "%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates" and find your normal.dot.Copy that and make it read-only. Replace your Vista normal.dot with this one. Make sure word is closed when doing so.Now see if this solves your problem. (Note that in Vista, your normal.dot will not be in the same folder as in XP since the folder structure has changed in Vista. I've never actually tried 2003 in Vista so I'm not sure when you would find normal.dot but I'm assuming you are clever enough to look for it.)
