start menu shortcuts....

I have copied a portable office software into the program files directory using the startup batch file method....But how do i create the shortcuts for that program in the start menu using batch files......

Shortcuts can't be created with batch files. Try VBS instead. It's simple, fast and it works.

Or grab Shortcut.exe, which is freeware, and which you can use from your Batch file to create shortcuts. I always use it

An easy way to create a shortcut with with an inf. And lucky for you, i've made an inf that creates shortcuts. You can use it for examples of what to do.
