vid card not working

hello. i have been trying for three days now to downgrade from vista to xp successfully. my main problem is my video card driver. nothing works. nothing. modified drivers, forcing it, nvidia's, hp's, third-party, other drivers for other cards, 20 formats and re-installs. is there any possibility that an unattended disc could successfully force my video driver into the installation, and windows would recognize what it was and i could use it? i am real desparate and seeking any suggestions. i have tried alot with no positive results. and i mean alot. i appreciate any feedback. thank you for your time.
