Frustrated !!!!

I have just built a new system, and my monitor goes black ( no signal ) for no apparent reason after

running perfectly fine for many hours. The system itself still seems to be up and running. Nothing

I do with the mouse or keyboard has any effect to wake my monitor up again, I end up hitting the reset button !!!

Please somebody help me figure this out .. I hope to install XP 64 after I can assure myself that the new hardware/bios

combo is stable and working safely ...

I have the following:

XP-SP2

ECS nForce-4A and ATI Radion HD 2600 XT

NEC 90GX

Turtle Beach Montego sound card

WinTV 1600

4 gig of ram ( strangely properties only shows 3 gig ?? )

Id Make sure you got the latest Drivers for your Video Card. Look on the manufactures site for the download. As for the 4 gigs showing up as 3, You are running a 32 bit OS and that does it. When you do put Win x64 on there it will go to 4 gigs of Ram.
