Kashim
Does anyone know a good program for finding bad sectors/physical errors on a hard drive? I've been using chkdsk with the /R switch, but it's not very sophisticated. I can't use the testing utilities provided by the drive manufacturer either. Some of my disks are connected to third party I/O controllers and aren't recognized by those programs. The program doesn't have to be free. I'm willing to pay for something that's good, but I don't want to install something huge and clunky like Norton Utilities for example. All suggestions are welcome. joll69
i'd recommend spinrite. I've had success reviving drives i thought were dead, and keeping my other drives in good maintenance.-joll
