Hi

Just re-installed vista but I have a small problem.

When I click on a link on the internet and explorer opens up a new window, nothing will display in this new window unless i highlight the address bar and press enter manually

Any ideas its driving me mad..

Many thanks

How long are you giving it to load? Do you see a window, with an animated green-fill scrolling across the small window, down in IE's bottom tool bar? If so, the anti-phishing scanner might be the culprit.

I have just disabled my phishing filter in IE and Norton but it still wont work. I have given it up to 2 mins to load but still nothing. any other ideas?

Right-click IE and choose the "Start Without Add-Ons" option - does the problem still occur there? If so, try running IE from Safe Mode w/ Networking.

I agree with cluberti. The only thing i would add is to re-register urlmon.dll. When you open a new IE windows urlmon.dll is responsible for handling this.

Just found outsomething else..

I have just gone to add this page to my favorites and it wouldn't let me do so by clicking on the star on IE, I had to press ctrl + D to get it to add.

does this shed any more light.

Thanks
