Val Woodrow Posted August 24, 2007 Posted August 24, 2007 The Help and Support link is not working from the Start menu. Is there a way I can fix this?
cluberti Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Are you certain the help and support service is running?
Val Woodrow Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 I really don't know. i tried reloading xp from the disc but it told me it was an older version so i couldn't do anything with it.windows cannot open help and support because a system service is not running to fix this problem, start the service named "Help and Support".I really don't understand what this means so any help you can give me i would be grateful. thanks.

This will open the services applet, and you should find a service in the list called "Help and Support" - that service needs to be running for the Help and Support functionality of XP to work properly.
Yzöwl Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 ...or if you want to use a simple click this method, download this batch file and double-click it!help_svc.cmd
Val Woodrow Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 did that, and the message came up."Could not start Help and Support service on local computer. Error 126:The Specified module could not be found"is there anything else i can do.?????
cluberti Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Well, not to be mean, but yes - you could search google and find your answer too .
