Hi!

As I purchased a 1u-rackmountserver (ASUS RS162-E4/RX4) I had troubles installing Windows 2003 x86 because the driver for the raid-controler had to be submitted with the F6-key during install.

But, as this mainboard does not have a floppy driver connector I was not able to install a floppy-drive.

I then tried my usb-floppy driver (Sony). At the F6-stage during the install I can point to the floppy and the driver is being copied with no problem. About a minute later it wants to access the floppy again. But this time the setup program does not recognise the usb floppy driver anymore. As I noticed this to be a common issue. I tried my luck with nLite.

Streaming in the driver and burning a new cd was no problem. Using this install-cd I was able to create potitions and the whole setup finished succesfully.

Now the server was automaticly restarted. At the moment the Windows 2003 logo apears with the blue/green progessindicater the system automaticly restarts itself.

I tried everyting (safe mode, numorous installs etc). When I selected to log each boot-step (in the F8-menu). I was not able to find the log-file. Because of this I think this is because the problem occures when accessing the hdd, so no logfile can be created.

As the driver is de latest version (and ofcourse the correct driver) I think it might has to do with the streaming.

Does anyone recognise this problem or has any ideas how to solve this?

Regards,

Ronald Kas
