How to format system with Vista DVD

Curruntly windows xp is installed in my system. When I try to install windows vista using DVD, it does not ask me to format drive C i.e. windows xp, it installs with windows xp, but I don't want two operating system in my pc, I want just windows vista. How can I remove windows xp and install windows vista???

When you get to part where it asks you where you want to install Vista go to advanced options on bottom of page you can format from there.
