W. Widmer Posted August 11, 2007 Posted August 11, 2007 Had a problem integrating startup SATA drivers (in textmode as required) into an XP-Pro SP2 install disk using both nlite V1.4Beta and V1.35. Receive an error message about opening a registry key to PnpInterface, but message also said the integration might still work. Hit OK each time for each driver & the processing fininalized. However, when I went to the next step to make the ISO image, it would get into the prep portion of making the iso and hang. Tried it on both an XP based machine with SP2 (all MS flagged critical updates installed) and new HP DV9500t running VISA. Interestingly, they hand in different spots. Tonight I tried using nlite V1.3, got the same error message while integrating the driver, but had no problem making the ISO image with V1.3 and disk works as it should. Used the default setting for trying to make the ISO with all 3 versions.
andykuan Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I'm having the exact some problem. I'm trying to add SATA drivers for the HP Pavilion dv2500t to a reinstallation CD version of XP Home SP2. While running nlite 1.4b, I also get the registry key complaint and when I try to create the ISO (or burn a CD directly), it hangs while "preparing".Could it be the fact that I'm using a reinstallation CD? Mind you, this isn't a "recovery" CD -- it's a single disk with a complete copy of the XP installation files.
