ronmanp Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 I'm having problems installing IE7, first of all I have a genuine xp.All other update are installed fine but every time the installation end I get a message saying INSTALLATION FAILED PLEASE REBOOT.All solution I found on Microsoft site didn't work.Someone has a solution for this ? Thanks in advance ,
Red Barchetta Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Two things you could try - if you haven't allready. For buth attempts you need to extract all the files to a folder (I just use WinRAR for that, but I think there is a command-line switch to do this without any 3rd party software too). The first method I have used before, and beleive it or not has worked on some system that would not install it the "Normal" way).1.) Go in to the sub-folder updat of the folder you just extracted everything to.2.) Run iesetup.exeSecond method, I have not personally tried, but have heard it works a lot of times1.) Go in to the sub-folder updat of the folder you just extracted everything to.2.) Run update.exe3.) restart your system.4.) go back in to that update Sub-Folder of the IE7 extracted files.5.) run xmllitesetup.exe.That's about all I can think of to even try.
