lenard50 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Hi there. I installed 2 sata drives on my M2N-E Asus motherboard. I used Seagate DiskWizard to transfer my files to my C: drive and drag and dropped my D: drive on the other drive. (Had IDE drives which I removed). Everything works great, except I have exclamation marks beside my sata drives in Device Manager. When I rebootedmy computer, it found new hardware, but couldn't find or install the drivers. So, my question is, how do install the drivers without reinstalling my WinxP OS. I do not want to reactivate it. I made a floppy with the drivers on it from my mobo cd. My sata drives are seagate barracuda 250gb.
jcarle Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Hard drives should not have drivers. Your SATA controller, however, will. Perhaps you've installed your hard drives using AHCI mode or they're installed on a non-standard SATA controller. Chances are if you update windows to the latest updates and update your chipset drivers, problems should go away.
