redx when printing but views okay

Hi All

I have a curious situation,

when a document that has multiple images i.e. illustratations is being worked on the illustrations view okay, they view okay in print preview as well with no problems but when thay are printed sometimes we get a redx in the top l/h corner of the where the illustration should be.

this is not unique to one person and happens on diffreent workstations i.e. dell optiplex 620 & GX280 both have good amounts of memory ( 2gb) this hapens in office 2002 & 2003 they all have upto date service packs etc.

i have even uninstalled office on machine reinstalled it and next day same thing happened, the thing that bugs me is there is no set pattern it will do it no one illustration one day then a completley different one the next day

i have made sure the printer dvrs are all upto date as well

Any suggestions or advice will be extremely welcome it is driving me nuts...
