So I was using my MS Outlook 2003 when all of a sudden, my emails started multiplying in my "Unread Mail" box. The computer hangs as it just starts multiplying certain emails. I thought maybe I had a virus but my Norton Antivirus 2007 says everything is hunky dory.

I quit, restart and reopen Outlook and it's fine for two minutes and then the emails start multiplying until I have 100+ duplicates of a bunch of random emails. My unread emails number jumps past 100,000. When I quit and restart, they are gone. But then, soon enough, they start multiplying again and my entire computer hangs.

It kinda sucks, to say the least. Does anyone have any ideas or thoughts about this malady? Thanks in advance.

Consult your network admins. Sounds like your client is misconfigured to somehow keep downloading all of your mail from the server. The admins need to know about this as it could be a server-side or profile problem and may affect other users.
