Reformatting

hi, I'm sure this is an easy one but my searches are not getting me any closer.

I need to reformatt but want to save my old emails etc so I can import to newly installed 2007, where are they stored? or what is the easiest way to do this?

Outlook/ Outlook Express > file > export

thanks, so I export it to my desktop as a personal folder file? then copy it off my HD?

I've just found files in my "local/microsoft/office" folder as well, can't I copy those and paste back in once I've reformatted?

I just dont want to stuff this up, sorry if it's basic stuff

Tip: Don't export the file to the same drive/partition that you will be reformatting--else it too will be deleted.
