zandu Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 (edited) Hi I have two drives installed C and E ide drives . Now I have cloned C to E and would like to now how to dual boot so that I can in fact choose E or C on start up I am running windows xp pro . I thought by running the xp cd and doing a repair it would pick up the two systems but it doesnt pick up the second hard drive any ideas ? thanks in advance Edited July 29, 2007 by zandu
spacesurfer Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 You can't do that if you cloned XP, because the source of the clone is C:\. If you put that on E:\ you will get errors because your registry points everything to C:\, not E:\.You have to reinstall.
Ponch Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 I have two drives installed C and E ide drives . Now I have cloned C to ESo what partition is active now ? This is important because that one becomes C once you boot. From there on any boot manager will do.
