Is it possible to delete files that would normally form folders in C:\windows and C:\program files?

(Basically, is it possible to follow Bold Fortune's guide, and use that to minimize the size of the Windows XP cd with his information?)

Also, is it possible to integrate the MS User Profile Hive cleanup service, and some sysinternal tools? [page defrag?]
