bullets with sub-bullets

When I am using the bullets, and I want to use a sub-bullet, I press the TAB key on my keyboard. The bullet stays in place and the courser moves over, but the bullet stays in place. In order to get the bullet to change to a sub-bullet, I have to use the indent button.

How do I get the tab button to move the bullet and change it to a sub-bullet?

This is driving me nuts. My computer at work tabs to the sub0bullet, but my home unit does not. I am sure there is a setting the needs to be changed, but I can’t find it.

Hi Gregg,

Don't know what version of Word you have, but in Word 2000 the setting is:

Tools | Options | Edit

then click the "Tabs and backspace set left indent" check box.

i am using 2003. i tryed what you posted, but nothing is there. any other ideas?

Use the increase/decrease indent buttons. The buttons look similar in 2007 and 2000. Here's what they look like:

this is what i am uaing today. the same application that i have on my work PC moves the bullet without using the indent button. that is what i am trying to get WORD-2003 to do on my home PC.
