Evilvito Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 (edited) I got vista but want xp to have my programs running perfectly (did the compatibility test but still some problems) I put m xp cd in and it won't read the harddrives. It shows 4 "Unknown Disk" and when i press enter i get a blue screen of death. I only have one hard drive which is Sata. ST320082 7AS(200 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II). I didn't get any floppy's with the drivers as well the computer didn't come with a floppy drive. Seagate doesn't have any drivers so I think its my Sata controller. ULi M5229. I go to Uli website to not found any drivers as well. So i can't use Nlite since theres no drivers. Any ideas? (also tried changing sata to ide in bios but can't find it in the bios)Tried other xp cds but won't work also the vista setup can see my hard drivePlz no virtual pc 2007SpecsVista x64756 mb ram256 mb ati cardpentium d 2.66 ghz Edited July 5, 2007 by Evilvito
IcemanND Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 you need to either get a floppy with the sata controller driver, or find them and integrate them into the cd, what chipset is on your motherboard? Or what motherboard is it.
Evilvito Posted July 5, 2007 Author Posted July 5, 2007 (edited) Motherboard Name: ECS RC410-M2 (2 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 2 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN) http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/...=44&LanID=8 Edited July 6, 2007 by Evilvito
IcemanND Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads...d=2&LanID=8You need the files for your version of windows from the flopyimage folder in the ZIP file from the above download and then integrate them into your cd using the manual method mentioned in the unattended guide, use nlite, or any of the other possible methods found on this board.

[well, except for like printers, scanners, that type of thing....]i use NLite to remove the 'old' windoze drivers for everything mentioned above. this makes the windoze installation smaller, making enough room to add the driverpacks. i tell you man, it is really great to have all of you hardware installed with the MANUFACTURER'S drivers [not windoze generci drivers] at the time of windows installation! i mean when i install windows my wireless adapter works right off the bat!but hey man, check this out. give it a try. just remember to use at the very least the mass storage and chipset driverpacks, and to make sure you check the text mode drivers for the mass storage so they will bypass the need for floppy disks at installation. you will see this after you download the packs and the driverpack BASE.if you have any problems or need any more info please holler at me. i'm snowdog2k5 on aim messenger or email me at onemorechance2007@yahoo.com hope this helps you out...mike Edited July 6, 2007 by Horizon Earth
