Hi there,

I'm currently using a Vista Business upgrade install from Windows XP Pro, but I'm planning to re-install in the next few days (nothing went wrong with the install, surprisingly. Just a new Hard Disk.).

Because of this I was thinking of using this little trick: http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=196 ... Clean install using a upgrade key by installing with no key at first then re-installing (upgrading really) Vista with my real key from within Vista.

However I would also like to use vLite to tweak the install to by needs. So my question is if I were to alter my first install disk with vLite setting 'Skip product key' and 'Skip auto activation' to true, then go back and 'upgrade' to my real key would I lose all the settings / changes done though vLite?

PS: I hate doing upgrades from different OS's (the key was cheaper, mmk? :P) so if anyone has an idea how I could do this with just the one clean install please speak up :)

Thanks for your time,

Mat.
