Vista downgrade problem, please help!

Hi,

I have just purchased a Toshiba u205-s5067 new laptop, with Vista home premium preinstalled on it.

I need to have XP, so I would like to make a dual boot option. I managged to partition the drive, started to instal xp, but failed. Then I researched and figured out that it is the SATA drive that causes the problem. With the F6 option I managged to instal it. I had many error messages (battery, CD, ... etc drivers), but seemed to work, until

the first reboot, when it dies and tries to reboot, but fails again.

I can see, it is a common problem and now I will try to make an instal cd as advised in this forum: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...mp;#entry356029

But how could I get back into a working condition on the laptop? How do I instal the new xp cd? Is there a way to boot in the still existing vista so I could find out exactly what hardware is inside?

All help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

IZ
