  1. I checked for Win updates for my laptop running Win 7 prof and IE 11. Ten possible updates were shown, 8 of which, however, were indicated for Win XP and some kind of server. I unchecked these 8 and downloaded the remaining 2. I then opened Win Update in my desktop running Win XP Prof and IE 8.0 to be advised that the relevant website was not available as it had not been for a not insignificant time already. I have a serious problem comprehending the underlying rationale of this situation concerning updates for Win 7 and Win XP, respectively, and shall appreciate any assistance/explanation and especially, updating XP. Thank you None of the ten updates presented were for both Win 7 and Win XP. Two were for Win 7 and eight for Win XP and, if my memeory is correct, for server 2003 I just belatedly realize that I had totally misread the descriptions of the available update and I can now only offer my sincere apologies for any problem caused.
