I need a utility to check-out and check-in CAD drawings and other files in a multiuser environment(Network with Workgroup shared files- not a real file Server). Version Control Systems would be an overkill, as I just want to check-out files from a central storage, copy them to the local HD, and prevent others to get the same files at the same time - or at lest warn them. This could be done either at single-file level or at a "project" level, where a project would contain all the relevant files that "go together". And of course the check-in would again free the file for others. The simpler the better. Can anyone point me to such products or utilities?
