  1. UPDATE: That was kinda weird....I was working on a separate computer that I own to create the new nLite CD. I burnt the CD and went back to the computer I am installing it on, and the winxp install wizard said it was complete. When it froze up previous, I let it sit there for about 5-10 minutes, then I pulled the plug. But as I was making this new nLite CD on the other copmuter, I left the installer run on the other computer (AKA, I didn't pull the plug when it froze, I just left it). I guess it just needed time to finish? I don't know. Hopefully it'll be working fine.
  2. Hey everyone, I've been using nLite'd versions of WinXP for quite a long time now. I've ran nLite on my original XP disk a few times, so I'm quite familure with it. I copied over the files from my Windows XP Home SP1 disk and integrated SP2 in addition to the update pack here: http://udp.xable.net/ Everything worked fine - It made the iso, I burnt it to a CD and booted off of it. The setup formatted the drive, copied some files, rebooted, did some other stuff... And then. Windows XP comes to the step: "Performing Final Tasks. Installs start menu items, register components, saves settings, removes any temp files." During this step, it freezes up. It installs the start menu items fine, but when it gets about halfway though registering components, it freezes. I have made literally 4 different nLite'd isos and tried them all with various settings. Same thing - they all freeze at the same step. Attached is my LAST SESSION.INI file. If anyone needs any more information or files, let me know. I don't know if this is a bug, or what. I've never had problems with nLite previously. I'm going to redo the nLite process and not remove any components in the process. Maybe this will work. I'll update as soon as I try it. Thanks, ~Schiz0 LAST_SESSION.INI
  3. I googled around quite a bit, and changed some stuff in the registry...and it's not comming back either. So I guess it looks like I screwed myself in this one. When I first disabled it, I thought it was something else, the Often Used Documents list..not the one in the start menu itself. Oh well. Looks like time for a reinstall. Thanks for the help everyone.
  4. I've used nLiteOS twice so far, and it's been fantastic. No bugs, no problems, everything's perfect. But, I have one question. During the nLiting process, I set it to disable the most often used programs list from the start menu. I was wondering if there is any way to get this back without reinstalling? Maybe some sort of registry hack or something? That would be awesome if there's a way to get it back. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I disabled it..I thought it was something else. And I'd really rather not reinstall, I just spent the day customizing Windows and installing software. It would suck to have to do it all over again :-\ Thanks, ~Schiz0
