  1. well then, delete the topic.
  2. any ideas? nobody?
  3. well. It seems to no one ever had problems like me? Same as last time...
  4. Hi there MSFN Experts, I just came to the stage when my uA setup is finalized, but there are a bunch of things left "unanswered" for me. I try to stick to the point, so I made a numbered list of my issues. Any help would be grateful. 1. Very interesting - my uA setup works well on MS VirtualPC 04, but not on a partition of my hard drive - in the last case, screen flickers; when RunOnceEX, different drivers are trying to install themselves. No idea...maybe an interference with Basharat's DP integration and/or nLite driver removing? 2. Still hard drive installing, RunOnceEx, it says when an msi-type setup starts, that "Windows Installer couldn't be accessed"...as I mentioned above, when VPC, works OK. 3. How can I acchieve, when installing XPize, that the default theme will be not changed to Royale? (I like to use the windows classic theme, but on the other hand with the design advantages of XPize) 4. What can I do when my regtweaks (CU/LM) separated and added _exactly_ according to the uA guide, but some of them do not seen to stick in? (possibility of interference w/ nLite's regmode options?) 5. Last one - if I want to add custom QuickLaunch icons to the taskbar, what copy syntax should be added to the .cmds, wanting to _all users_ have them? If anyone reads through this, that would be good. If anyone can help me, that would be wonderful. Marque PS.: a big thanks to nLite creators, uA guide writers, Shark007, Ryan, nero lite makers, Basharat the Sneaky. W/o them I wouldn't be able to make my uA CD (and of course I'd have much more free time... ).
  5. OK, and thanks a lot, but I think that main drivers, oembios.bin and such are not those files whom just can be ignored. Or I misunderstand the thing?
  6. Nobody has ever met with this type of problem?
  7. Hi everyone, especially the experts , I've got a very strange complication with my unattended installation. When the text-mode portion of setup starts to copy the main files, not much (2-10) different files (most of dlls and sys-s), are just can't be copied from the source, the setup halts and displays an error message. Retry (ENTER) doesn't work, jut the skipping (ESC). This indicates that my unattended Windows won't start the GUI part of setup, because there are missing, important files. The interesting thing is, that these "cant-be-copied" files are not the same. They differ from time to time, but, I've noticed that from, for example, 5 times out of 10, oembios.bin and ks.sys are parts of the "bad ones". I tried to make my unattended ISO with CdImageGui and Nero Burning Rom, each time with the same effect. I have tested it only with MS Virtual PC 2004, but I think the situation would be the same in "real-life"(=burned out CD). What should I do? Is my source corrupt; or the slipstreamed service pack(s) were corrupt and that made the whole thing wrong? Or I just have to try it with different iso making apps? Thanks, if anyone can help in this matter.
  8. Hello everyone, I'm an absolute newbie here, so at "first round" please excause my silly question(s) and bad english. I have -for now- two things to ask from the "veterans": 1, The "KB917734" media player hotfix seems to be installed at first sight, but when I test the unattended installation, Windows Update just doesn't recognize it and asks to download. What should I do? Maybe this problem caused by an incomplete registry key added by the hotfix? 2, In my winnt.sif file I manage under the [components] section what windows component should install and what shouldn't. I cancelled the Windows Messenger (because my setup installs instead messenger live), MSN explorer and i want to "kill" the standard internet explorer too. What I have to do? And, another thing, Messenger and MSN explorer are installed, no matter what i wrote in the .sif file. Here's the cited part: [Components] accessopt=Off mplay=Off msmsgs=Off msnexplr=Off zonegames=Off Thank you for reading, and if possible, answering these questions. I'm looking forward to make a very good unattended setup cd, it's "cool" to do but a tiring work and I have to learn a lot...
