I have the same problem on a creative soundblaster 5.1 and a Microsoft Sidewinder force feedback PRO Windows XP 64Bit see's the port but does not pickup the joystick. Much to my dissapointment from what I have found so far Microsoft have taken it in to there heads to NOT Support the game port any longer.
