  1. Resolved the problem. HKLM is comprised of sub-Hives. I can access each sub-Hive individually and export it to another location. To export SAM (Security Accounts Manager) permission must be granted. Same goes for HKU.
  2. Everytime I try to export HKLM and HKU as Registry Hive Files using regedit, I get the following error message: Registry Editor Cannot export D:\Hives\Local Machine: Error writing the file. There may be a disk or file system error. I am trying to export the above mentioned hive to my second hdd. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? I have no problem using regedit to save HKLM and HKU as .reg files. I'm using WinXP Pro SP2. What have I tried? I did a clean install for WinXP with no service pack update on a new hdd. As soon as the installation was complete, I used regedit to access the registry. I tried to export HKLM as a registry hive file to my desktop and received the a similar error message. I have searched for an answer on Microsoft's web site. I have Googled the subject, but to no avail. Would you know why this is occurring? I am the administrator of my rig. Thanx for taking the time.
  3. I've reloaded WinXP Pro 4x in the last 2 days. I installed SP2 from a MS CD and had a problem with a prog. I went to "Add or Remove Programs" and found all the files, but there was a huge gap between a program beginning with "N" and the next program beginning with "P". I had to scroll down to the bottom of the window to see the next prog. The problem doesn't exist under WinXP Pro SP1 or SP1a. It only occurs with the SP2 update. It doesn't make a difference which way SP2 is installed, loaded as an update, CD, or slipstream.
  4. I don't know whether or not you tried this, but I'll state it anyway. In FF you must save the web page. Once the page is saved you can convert the web page to a pdf file. Of course you'll have to open Adobe Acrobat Pro and do it from there.
  5. I recently made a purchase from Dell. I had a problem so I called tech suport. I got India on the phone. The tech rep didn't understand me and I didn't understand him. I was p***ed. So I called Dell Customer Service. Did I get the US? No. I got Panama. Dell support has been outsourced to all other nations on the planet. Do I have a problem with this? Yes and no. The countries that the support is being outsourced to are paying extremely low wages and it by passes the unions. All in all companies that support outsourcing seem to support slave labor.
