Nitroshift _ have already tried that with removing cable and also at same time, discovered that it is NOT activated via "LAN" however, from a page in MS tech` on various issues with power management discovered that if one activates the properties of the "mouse" in device management to make mouse wake up PC it appears to have solved the problem with "Standby" coming out of it`s mode unexpectedly. Of course there is a sting to the tale - hibernation is still an issue since the properties in mouse/power only refer to standby NOT hibernation which is to be expected. But then again, we have progressed 50% which is better than nothing I guess - back to the drawing board. Cheers

Nitroshift - thanks for suggeston - as a matter of interest have seen somewhere about checking network adapter on same issue - how does one check this apart from disconnecting cable? Cheers

Hi Nitroshift - thanks for reply but alas, all sections are disabled within the APM - cannot see any auto wake ups of any discription. Would think the PC manufacture would have thought of that first? Back to the drawing board I guess? unless someone else comes up with a solution. Cheers

Hi all - we have a problem with "Standby & Hibernation" Can get into either after allocated time but after the initial application of whichever mode chosen, PC will then awake again after about 10 secs. Have tried both wireless & wired keyboard/mouse but make no difference. As far as we can tell, BIOS settings are correct. Was advised by PC manufacture to reinstall Win-XP - was given the impression that it seem the most obvious route to take as indicated from their service dept. Am not sure whether to try the repair system first (simply reinstall windows over existing installation) or to go the whole hog by formatting then install XP. The PC was like it when I received it so presumably it could have been a dirty installation? Anyone out there have any advice on the issue, is it REALLY a windows problem or what? Am using ASUS S-SATA mother board + Pentium/ 4 3.4GHz. I would rather hope that one does not have to reformat. Any advice much appreciated - should point out that monitor standby is OK with no problems at all but guess that`s a different programme? Cheers
