  1. I am wondering if it is possible to wake a computer up from hibernation when a signal is present on a specific network port. This is basically what I have set up right now. I have a computer that is acting as a media center for a TV. The computer is using an 802.11n wireless adapter to connect through the network. On the same TV, I have an Xbox 360 that is connected to the computer. The computer is bridging the wired connection from the Xbox to the wireless connection and allowing it to connect to the internet for online gaming. The main problem is that the computer is eating up a considerable amount of energy when it is powered on, but setting it on a hibernation timer would kill the connection on the Xbox 360. I would like to have a network port sort of determine if the computer is 'allowed' to hibernate or not. While there is activity on the NIC, the computer will not be 'allowed' to go into hibernation mode. Only when there is no activity on the line (only when the Xbox 360 is actually off) will the computer be allowed to hibernate. Just getting this far would be good enough, but I would ideally like the computer to power on when the line becomes active as well. That part may not be possible, but one could dream... right? Anyone have any suggestions or hints into the matter?
