  1. Getting non-KB-style updates?

    I'm rolling a Windows 2000 unattended install, but having problems with some updates. For example, one of the first windows-updates installations is an updated version of windows update! Windows Update is a very difficult term to search for on the microsoft.com site as well as this one. Is there a way to pre-download this type of update in a package ready to install? Another example is the Root Certificates Update (currently dated 2/28/2006). I can't seem to find an installable package.

  2. TechNet CD as source?

    I have a MS TechNet subscription. Can I use the CD media from Technet to create an unattended installation CD, just switching in my volume license for the TechNet license in sysprep.inf?
