I have tried four times to create a SP2 streamlined CD for XP pro. All attempts produce a black screen with no apparent disk activity with about 34 mins to go during the "installing devices" stage. The screen blacks first and disk activity eventually stops. If I resart, the installation will resart at "installing devices" with 39 mins to go but will eventally hang at the 34mins to go point. I saw a similar problem in the forum dicussion that exlained a installation hang at the 39mins to go stage and I implemented the advice given viz: click advanced, remove CAT files + disable windows file protection in the patches section. Also use RyanVM's addon pack. The installation still hangs. I have also tried using a borrowed XP source disk albeit with SP1 integrated but the same hang occurred. Can anyone help?
