Windows 2000 Server SP4 suddenly shutdown. i don't know why. I see eventlog. no trigger. this system sometimes suddenly shutdown. about one for a week.i'd like to know why. How do i investigate the cause of this problem?

I use WSUS & IBM Director Server on Windows Server 2003 SP1.i have a question. When I have server problem,i will re-install Windows Server 2003 SP1. At that time,without re-installing WSUS and application, I only restore backup file ( include WSUS & WSUS data & application & application data) using NTBACKUP. is this procedure right?
I'd like to know how to performance-up Active Directory DC. We can't replace new H/W. We'd like to know the replication traffic sizes of between AD site and AD site ,and the replication traffic sizes of between DC and DC. What tools do we use for capturing replication traffic ?
