SATA Boot Problems - Confused
FIC AN19E Stealth with Silicon Image SiI 3112 SATARaid Controller and the PCI card is a Vantec 2 port nonraid model UGT-ST200 (Driver - Silicon Image SiI 3512 SATALink Controller). When I boot the Silicon Image SiI 3512 SATALink Controller is listed first along with the drive then the Silicon Image SiI 3112 SATARaid Controller. Followed by “no boot disk found” The Board SATA BIOS does not give me an option for boot priority. Hope this helps. Thanks

SATA Boot Problems - Confused
I checked the BIOS for the on board SATA but could not the option for that and I don't think I can access the PCI SATA card's BIOS (if there is one). I guess I'm still confused.

SATA Boot Problems - Confused
So, I’m having an issue that I can’t quite figure out. Just reinstalled my OS on a SATA striped raid (2x160gb’s) on the motherboard SATA ports. Installed without issue (in fact I’m using right now to type this). I also have a 1 TB SATA drive for just storage that is ran off of a PCI SATA card. I only have 2 SATA ports on this board. Here is the problem; when I plug in the 1 TB drive and boot the comp I get a boot disk not found error. With it unplugged, boots up just fine. I believe that the BIOS is confusing the drives but I cannot figure out how to tell the BIOS to pick one over the other. My PCI can does not have raid capability if that matters. If I need to post more info I can. I’m clearly a bit of a novice here so all help is appreciated.

[Release] Microsoft Private Folder 1.0
Are there any other similar programs that have more options? I don't want my private folder on my desktop. Otherwise, nice tool.

Free Data Recovery Program
Test Disk repaired the MBR and it was like it never happened. This is a great tool, before I've lost data with mistakes like this. Always good to add a new tool to the toolbox. Thanks again.

Free Data Recovery Program
It was a NTFS logical partition used in a data server. Before that it was used as part of a stripped raid for my OS. I think I failed to correctly delete the raid sector. The OS on the server crapped out and I threw the HD back in my main box (where the raid orig existed) and then accidentally deleted the raid partition. I thought I correctly reformatted the drive but clearly I did not. Thanks for all of the prompt responses. I've lurked here for quite a while and have been consistantly impresses with the knowlege here.

Free Data Recovery Program
I could be exposing my lack of knowledge here. The drive is showing up as "unallocated space" in partition magic. Is there any other info needed to diagnose this? Thanks again.

Free Data Recovery Program
I'm seriously in need of a hand here. I accidentally deleted the boot sector of a hard drive and I'm trying to recover the data. Does anyone have a good freeware or open source data recovery program? I'm using WinXP sp2 if that matters (the only ones I found were linux, and I suck at linux). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
