  1. the page is out on the web, and the "anonymous user" is allowed. People can access the webpages fine (assuming the "everyone" group is added to the permission/security settings), but not when it comes to entering a user name and password
  2. Hi, just joined because I'm facing a problem with a server 2003 setup... The problem is that right now is that only certain web browsers can access the webpages on the server when a username and password authentication is requred. For example, if I'm using a MAC and IE v5.2, I can access the webpages fine. However, if I use FireFox on the same MAC, the password and username is always rejected.... Now, if I use a PC and IE v6.0.2, I also can't access the website. I enter in the appropriate name and password and it spits it back at me..3 times, then you get the Authorization error. Same thing when using FireFox. I've tried a lot of things...but can't seem to figure it out. I keep on getting the lame HTTP 401.1 error. So far I've tried turning off the feedback loop, checking all the permission settings on both the folder and the IIS....is it something wrong with the IIS settings? -- fyi, the server is using IIS 6.0 It use to work with all web browsers/OS's...but now this...any help would be appreciated, thank you.
