Hi Defender error comes up when it asks for a scan If I scan by pressing the scan drop down menu (rathr than the scan now button) it works fine, but this doesnt clear the desktop icon reminding you to scan every three days

Hi I get the error message 'windows defender encountered a problem XXXXXX-XXX. Invalid pointer' when I try to do a scan. Its doing this on 3 other PCs (using xp home and windows x64) - 2 have norton installed, 1 has AVG ANy ideas??
