  1. I haven't disables processing no though not too sure where to check that. The svsvol folder matches up on all DCs and any gpo i create or file i add on \\FS1\sysvol gets replicated onto the other DCs.
  2. Just checked all the .adms and there identical to the ones on the other 2 DCs. When i go into add/remove templates all the .adms are listed. Removing them and adding them does nothing either.
  3. Hi there. We have 3 DCs on site here all Server 2003 with all updates and on 1 of them when we go into GPMC and open any GPO under admin templates (for both user and pc config) all we see is windows components>netmeeting and windows components>windows media player. The other 2 DC's GPMC shows up all the settings fine. I've uninstalled GPMC and reinstalled to no effect and also tried logging on as a different user which also changes nothing. I've tried to change the settings in View>filtering as well though this doesn't seem to change anything. Any help would be marvellous. Graham
  4. Hi there. Would like to know if whats in the title is possible? What i'd like to do is change the maximum filename length from 256 characters down to something like 235 or so. The reason for this is because our backup program (Second Copy) fails when it hits a filename that it reads as longer then 256 characters. People on the network are saving longer then 256 (as BS1 would see it) because they'll save to S:\Folder\folder\folder\etc.. say but the Backup server will read that as \\FS1\d$\Shared Folder\Folder\folder\folder\etc... so it can not backup certain files. If we were to limit the filename length then we wouldn't get a situation where its more then 256 characters for the backup server. Not a clue if its possible or anything. Did a quick google search and found nothing so thought i'd ask here. Any help appreciated.
  5. Easiar than opening all the cases. I think 'm going to have to sit on this until NetSupport get back to us. As it stands though it doesn't have anything that can run from a prompt. Cheers for your help lads. And wahoooo!! The weekend is here.
  6. That would indeed solve the problem but i just don't fancy running round opening up hundreds of PCs. Its mainly a problem in one school were they use NetSupport to "lock" kids PCs. Theres just nothing stopping the kids resetting the PC and carrying on with whatever they like. We've got in touch with NetSupport a few times about it and its filed under "currently in development" which means not bloody likely.
  7. Not too sure if its possible but is there a way to change what happens when someone hits the reset button? Say for example they hit the reset button and it runs a script instead of just restarting the PC. Gone into advanced power options and theres options of thing to do when power button and sleep button is hit but not the reset. Any help appreciated.
  8. OK. Been googling and what not and cant not for the life of me find a link to download the bugger. (dsclient 2003). Have a problem with 98 PCs on a 2003 server and going through article "http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;555038" it says i need dsclient 2003. It specifically says "dont use the dsclient version that came with windows 2000 CD-ROM" which is the only one i have found. Many googling later and still cant find the bugger. I'm thinking might have to get in contact with microsoft direct but just thought i might try my luck and see if any of you guys have a link.
