  1. Odd problem, which I have experienced something similar to before. On previous occasion I was told my memory was fried. I took it out. The machine worked fine. However, on this occasion I have taken out the memory, but the problem persists. I am running on 256 ram now and now 1.256 (approx) as before. Note please, my DVD/CD drive on my machine is bust, so using MS Win CD is not the solution here for me, unless I buy an external USB drive or similar. Anyways, problem is this. I start up the laptop, Win XP SP2, I get Win welcome screen and then the machine restarts, and brings me thru to screen where I can choose Safe Mode, or Safe Mode with Network Connectivity, or Last Config that worked and so on. The only one of these that works, and I have tried them all, is Safe Mode. I have managed to grab all my files therefore, however I don't want to lose my OS as I have lots of softare and settings and stuff that will take weeks to get back into the right way. So... anyone have any idea as to what might be going wrong here. Note, I have no net connectivity on this machine due to Safe Mode status. I have run MS Antispyware Beta and it shows nothing. I have run Scan Computer from Norton Antivirus and it has found nothing. My Event Properties is showing one exclamation mark, which relates to "Windows Saved User XXXXX/user registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use. This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account. And that's it. Can someone please help me, it would be greatly greatly appreciated, Thanks, Wrafter That said though, I see I've been getting that error message daily for the last few months, so I don't think it is related to the issue currently being experienced. If someone can shed light, would be appreciated.
