  1. Having trouble with my PC which insists on running at 100% most of the time, even when at idle with no apps running it jumps between 10 & 25% - normal system should run @ 1 or 2 %. I've re-installed XP Pro on the PC a couple of times now, as soon as its installed though i get the same problem as above. Ive also completely erased the drive using Diskscrubber before the last install just in case anything was left behind. The PC is a little old with a 500mhz AMD proc, 184mb & a 10GB HD although i also have a similar spec machine (with just 128mb) which runs just fine (even with XP & Win 98 dual boot!) which makes me suspect that its not just the age of the PC. Anyone have any suggestions? Dellboy Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on. --Zxian
  2. Looking for some help here - I've recently added a 3rd PC to my wireless home network, all PC's are running XP Pro (one with SP2). Before adding the 3rd PC I was able to share files perfectly well between the 2 but since adding a 3rd PC it appaears never to give access to one or more of the PC's even when they're all switched on. I've run the MS home NW wizard numerous times on each PC, tried using different names etc but still I cannot get full visibility - theres always one PC that can't access the network. Internet access works fine with all 3 (via a Belkin cable wireless router). Also the Windows firewall is off on the PC with SP2 although the Zonealarm firewall has the IP addresses of the other 2 in the trusted zone. Anyone got any ideas?? Dellboy
