  1. I'm not familar with Paritition Magic, but using Acronis Disk Manager/Boot Loader I have the following set-up. XP Home Install C:\ Has Windows on it, along with prog files and boot files. (Primary, Active) M:\ Is my FAT32 partition with all my media files (Logical) R:\ Is my WinXP recovery install - this is invisible, and can be made (in)visible from Acronis (Primary, Hidden) I say it is R, but only for ease of naming. XP Home Recovery Install C:\ Is the primary Windows install from above E:\ My Recovery XP files, progs etc - Why it chose E rather than D, is forever a mystery. M:\ Media as above This install sees all 3 partitions. So, I would try doing a minimal install of XP to a small C partition, then continue installing XP to other larger partitions as neccesary. Once done, go into every XP install, and change drive letters (other than the self) to be consistant. Once everything works, have a poke around Partition Magic/Boot Magic, I expect the option for making drives invisible to one another is in there somewhere. I've only just set this up myself, hope it helps.
  2. You need to install MSXML parser 6. (At least I did) Download here Also, if you have Norton anti-virus disable it while installing, else AoE3 will fall over. Hope this helps.
  3. I played this one for a short while - lots of fun. To get the most out of it, try and find a player run 'corp' to join. If you find a good one, they'll give you some free stuff (ships, weapons etc) in return for joining the corp on mining sprees, and just floating around killing any person unfortunate enough to wonder into your area of space. Or if you feel like being evil, go around killing people by yourself, and they can exact their revenge by taking a bounty out on you. The online costs are about £30 for 100days. If space based MMORPG are your thing, you should enjoy it.
  4. Have you tried changing the port in Azureus to something other than default? I use something like port 65234, and get good speeds on well populated torrents. I'm using NTL (cable), going through a Sitecom router with port forwarding set up. Any use?
  5. By process of elimination You get my last invite! Guess the rest of you shall have to wait a bit longer.
  6. Luna Silver with Vortec Space wallpaper, shrink the 'Active Title Bar' to size 20, cange the font to something else. Alternativly a Vista type theme from Themexp.org That would be my preference anyway.
  7. It seems that doing it all manually sorted it. Must have managed to delete something using nLite. Thanks BoardBabe. @Discountpc The setting for Workgroup always worked, and my home network uses that workgroup for file transfer purposes. Good idea though. At one point I had the same name in my answers, as my Host PC was called, so I ended up with a random name anyway. All seems to be well now. Thanks for the help.
  8. I hope that is your .NET passport account, but an invite coming your way. Alright then.
  9. And thus you are invited. More invites up for grabs.
  10. I've tried your suggestion. Same error. My source is a WindowsXP (home) sp1a holo disk. Copied using the nLite wizard. nLite version 1.0 RC5. Existing winnt.sif copied to i386 folder. Iso created using nLite. Tested in MS Virtual Machine 2004 (trial) I must be missing the big flashing warning light that says 'This will ONLY work on XP-Pro'
  11. For the empty recycle bin, go to the 'Control Panel' (switch to Classic View) in the 'Sounds and Audio Devices' option, look in the 'Sounds' tab. In the scroll box, go down to the 'Windows Explorer' section, and just below, you should find the 'Empty Recycle Bin' sound, and be able to change it. The balloon pop is probably in there too, though probably called something different. Hope this helps.
  12. Is your backup drive using NTFS or FAT32 as the file system? If FAT32, then I think there is a 4GB file size limit. Which would cause the file copy to fail. If NTFS, I'm not sure.
  13. It's more of an annoyance than anything else. Once I've got past the error screen, and a perfectly acceptable name (that is retained once installation is finished) it works a charm. And a 2 click install, is far more preferable than sitting there for an hour filling in every single box.
  14. I've tried your suggestion, but its a no-go. Error Message Hit the OK button, this appears. I click Next, it carries on I'm not aware of installing anything that resets the computer name, but I would have thought the error would occur later. Could this be a result of me pruning the languages folder over-zealously?
  15. Not that specifically, though I have tried ComputerName=String Can't hurt to try again though. I haven't tried it on a real machine yet, only a virtual machine, if that makes any difference.
  16. I'm getting an error during my unattended install regarding the 'computername' No matter what name I give it, if it is "quotes" or not, or even if I set it to a random name using *, set-up rejects it. The error message I get tells me there is an error or missing information in the answers file. Click OK. I get the familiar GUI set-up window, the name I entered is displayed in the box, and is unchangeable. All I can do is hit 'Next', the name is accepted, and the rest of the unattended install happens normally. Am I missing something painfully obvious? Here is my entire WINNT.sif file, incase I'm somehow causing a conflict. ; Generated by nLite 1.0 RC5 [Data] Autopartition = 0 MsDosInitiated = 0 UnattendedInstall = Yes [Unattended] UnattendMode = FullUnattended UnattendSwitch = Yes OemPreinstall = Yes OemSkipEula = Yes FileSystem = * WaitForReboot = No NoWaitAfterTextMode = 1 NoWaitAfterGUIMode = 1 DriverSigningPolicy = Ignore NonDriverSigningPolicy = Ignore TargetPath=\WINDOWS [UserData] ProductKey = 12345-ABCDE-12345-QWERT-98765 FullName = "My Name" OrgName = "Personal Use" ComputerName = TESTPC [Display] BitsPerPel = 32 Xresolution = 1024 Yresolution = 768 Vrefresh = 60 [SystemRestore] MaximumDataStorePercentOfDisk = 5 [GuiUnattended] EncryptedAdminPassword = No TimeZone = 085 OEMSkipRegional = 1 OemSkipWelcome = 1 [Components] msmsgs=off msnexplr=off freecell=off hearts=off minesweeper=on pinball=on solitaire=on spider=off zonegames=off [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup = 1 SystemLocale = 00000809 UserLocale = 00000809 InputLocale = 0809:00000809 [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents = Yes [WindowsFirewall] Profiles = WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall [WindowsFirewall.TurnOffFirewall] Mode = 0 [Identification] JoinWorkgroup = DEEPTHOUGHT [GuiRunOnce] "%systemdrive%\install\batchfile.cmd" [Branding] BrandIEUsingUnattended = Yes [URL] Home_Page = http://www.google.co.uk [IEPopupBlocker] BlockPopups = Yes FilterLevel = Medium ShowInformationBar = Yes [Shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile = "%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\TigerIV Graphite.theme" I am using Microsoft Virtual Machine 2004 to test my created iso, on a Windows Home XPsp2 install.
