  1. I rebuilt my CD and now it's working fine. God, I hate this when it does that. Now I don't know what triggers the error... Isn't computer fun? Thanks for doing a test anyway. Now, to integrate your new release... Great stuff!
  2. Hello everyone! I am having a problem installing MSN Messenger from the GuiRunOncEx method. The odd thing is that the installation was working fine in my setup before when it was based on SP1. Now I am trying to install from an SP2 setup (along with the RyanVM pack). The error I am getting is the following: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows installer is not correctly installed. Here is the command I use to setup for GuiRunOnceEx: REG ADD %KEY%\010 /VE /D "MSN Messenger 6.1.0202" /f REG ADD %KEY%\010 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\MSN\MsnMsgs.msi /QB" /f Other installs work fine (.NET+SP1, Java 5, etc...) What could be the culprit? Thank you very much!
  3. @RyanVM: I am trying to install MSN Messenger 6.1.0202. The odd thing is I can install it after all the installation process is done and I am logged in. Here is the relevent commands in my RunOnceCmdEx file: REG ADD %KEY%\010 /VE /D "MSN Messenger 6.1.0202" /f REG ADD %KEY%\010 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\MSN\MsnMsgs.msi /QB" /f Anyhow, I'll start a new thread on this issue since it does not seem to be related to your pack. Maybe it is SP2 related.
  4. Hi, I've used your pack RyanVM but now I am getting the following error upon running the installation: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows installer is not correctly installed. I am running the installer from the GuiRunOnceEx as I always did. Does someone have experienced something similar upon applying RyanVM's pack? Thanks.
  5. Thanks for replying. That's what I thought. So, am I right in assuming that I can perform the copy of the hacked tcpip.sys from RunOnceEx ? I guess by then the KB would have been applied and I could safely replace the file ? Thank you. P.S: There is no way to have Windows protect this hacked file ? Not even a hack of something ?
  6. Thanks for the new release. Quite happy someone facilitates our life. I have a question though: is the tcpip.sys in the pack patched to allow unlimited connections ? If not, could I just place the one found in those forums over the one in your pack? Thanks.
  7. Hi, One thing that's not clear to me is after slipstreaming SP2 into windows XP I get a cmpnents\netfx directory. Is this going to be installed by the Windows Setup process or will I need to call the setup myself at some point after the normal XP setup is done. I'v seen several posts about a repackaged DotNetFX with SP1 integrated. Shall I use this one and call it from GuiRunOnceEx and delete the "cmpnents" directory as it is not needed? Thank you.
  8. Ok, I made my XP disk some times ago using several guides from MSFN. First I slipstreamed SP1 and then followed the guide to add the SP1 Security RollUp package to my disk and then added the post-SP1 hotfixes. All was well then but now I come back and find that no one else is referencing the Rollup in their SVCPACK.INF... Is the Rollup still needed? Did you move it to somewhere else? I am so lost now.
