You were partially correct. It needs all those 3, but it also needs the Event Logger. As I sit here I can (of course) not remember the exact name, but it's something like "Event Logger" or "System Event and Performance Log". Well, something to that effect. Shouldn't be hard to find. I'll edit later with the correct name.

Didn't work for me either. It seems I'm removing something else, that Update needs to complete the installation. This is the *only* thing that's keeping me from doing my reinstall of all my computers right now. Oh well, if anyone has an idea what component is causing the trouble, please let me know. This is extra strange, since I'm checking the "Windows Update Website" thing just before I'm presented with the screen where I remove components individually.
