  1. That rings a bell, or at least I remember something about going into the registry to change/fix encrypted passwords. I'm not sure that's safer than Bigfoot, but I'll pursue it. Thanks.
  2. "Very strange, never heard of that problem to be honest. For a start try to reinstall IE, and see what happens." I had done that, no relief. Also wiped the hard drive on this computer and switched from Win98SE to WinXP Pro SP2. The problem followed me. It may be that I live in a "zone." There have been stories of Bigfoot in the woods nearby.
  3. I've had the following problem for some time, on at least three computers, running WinXP and Win98SE. Always IE6: When I make a dial-up connection, I sometimes find that my password has been changed from the seven character word I chose during Internet setup to something with 16 digits. I have to change it back to go online. I've gone into IE6 tools/interenet options/connections to make sure the password is right, and sometimes it is, but sometimes it isn't. Changes don't hold. Redoing my Internet setup doesn't stop it from happening. Just an annoyance, and it doesn't always happen, but I'd sooner live without it.
