Hi.. i am running xp pro and have a very annoying problem,i class myself as a beginner so be gentle please,whenever i open an email with a link on it or open a web page with a link on it and try to use it (i.e click on it)nothing happens,i dont think i have disabled anything but thats not to say i have not.my i.s.p is BT yahoo......any help would be great...cheers ANDY

thanks guys for your replies,,i installed the network version and everything seemed ok for a while untill the machine done the automatic updates and then it hung after reboot and will not restart,any ideas

the cd was made with the option you get to make one after you uppack and set up the machine for the first time,as for network sp2 i am not quite sure about this.i have a sp2 installation disc from microsoft but it does the same

The kids have a compaq pressario pc(amd 64 3200+)the hard drive gave up the ghost so i installed another and put in the recovery disc i made just after i bought it new.the prob is that the machine downloads and installs all the updates fine but when i try sp2 the machine freezes resulting in the recovery cd having to be reinstalled, any ideas folks Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on. --Zxian

i use bt yahoo and was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is anything that can alert me when i have received mail when i am online as opposed to repeatidly giong back to the home page and looking,it is quite annoying but hey maybe its just me......cheers......ANDY

Santa brought me norton internet security 2006,ghost 10.0 and norton go back 4.0 for xmas,the prob is,,having installed internet security i installed ghost,insallation was easy to follow and done all as prompted,after finishing installation it suggests you back up and try the recovery out to make sure it works,,so i backed up my complete system booted from the disc to be greeted with a blue screen and error codes as follows....0X0000009C (0X00000004 0X8089A7A0 0XB2000000 0X00070F0F),,,my machine was working ok prior to this,if this is a hardware prob whats the best way to find out what piece of hardware it can be,i have tried the same back up again to be greeted with the same..is there anywhere to tell me what these numbers refer to,,any help would be great...CHEERS ANDY.....HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on. --Zxian
