Wigadore, Which version of the INF files are you using?? Here is what I'm using: INF Update (Chipset) 8.3.0.1013 8/27/2007 Thanks. I've tried this at multiple client locations and it seems to always happen. I read up on this a little and it seems to be a SP2 issue? Any thoughts

Anyone else have a fix for the blue screen that is easily duplicated by adding a line to your .sif file to try and install the Intel INF (chipset) drivers? I unpacked (extracted) the drivers from the Intel download and created the following structure: $OEM$\$1\Drivers\DellTest\Intel_INF Line in answer file: OEMPNPDriversPath = "Drivers\DellTest\Intel_INF" DriverSigningPolicy = ignore Txt Mode setup will work great but first restart invokes a blue screen (stop error 0x000000FC) every time on several different Dell models (Precision 690, Optiplex 745, Inspiron D810/820 laptops, etc.) This is for a Windows XP Professional SP2 disc - seems to happen with volume license and Dell OEM copies of image. Also happens with RYANVM patched images. Any ideas? I'd like to get these drivers installed without having to invoke the complete installer in cmdlines.txt!!! THANKS!

UPDATE: Got both these answered by MS support. If anybody's interested let me know. Guys, Long time viewer, first time poster. 1) I need assitance with using Cmdlines.txt and riprep images. I have a cmdlines.txt file that resides in the \$OEM$ folder on my risetup image and runs just fine. However, when I make an riprep image, where do I put cmdlines.txt? I saw a document (non-microsoft) that said I needed to create a folder structure in the \Riprep_dir_name\I386\Mirror1\UserData\Sysprep that mirrored the following: \Riprep_dir_name\I386\Mirror1\UserData\Sysprep\I386\$OEM$. And then include my cmdlines.txt and associated file within that. <~~Anybody tried this or heard of it? As well, I was to modify the riprep.sif answer file: InstallFilesPath = "C:\sysprep\i386" However, my riprep.sif answer file already contains InstallFilesPath="\\%SERVERNAME%\RemInst\%INSTALLPATH%\%MACHINETYPE%" Any ideas?? I thought I would ask before spending time on testing it. 2) Anybody have any idea what riprep.exe /pnp does? The Microsoft documentation gives a generic answer. I'm looking for someone who has a real-world answer as far as the difference between running riprep.exe and riprep.exe /pnp. I thought riprep would detect plug-n-play hardware anyways without the /pnp switch.?? Thanks guys, Scott
