  1. I am getting an error when i open word 2003 or outlook 2003 and when i close it. "Compile Error in Hidden Module:kengine" I have searched everywhere for a fix and cannot even find what kengine is, I have found all the fixes for other compile error problems but not related to this, any ideas ?
  2. Just a quick questions, I have a site setup where there are 3 servers one has exchange, I have setup replication for AD, I just wanted to know if you can install the exchange components onto the 2 servers that dont have exchange so that when I create a new user, I can setup their emails aswell, when i do this now I must do it from the machine with exchange so i can get the mail boxes and so on. when i do it from the other machines i get no exchange tool bars when i go to the users properties cheers all
  3. I have a site that has a fvx538 at either end, behind these are conencted with the VPN function. Now behind these 2 are server 2003 at either end. When I try to files access or RDP accross the VPN it does not work I can ping no worries but RDP brings up the top bar (minimize section) and then never connectecs, With file access i can see the shares on the server if i click on them the screen goes white and thats it it times out,I have been looking for a solution to this for ages I have come across these (2 hot fixes) http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=898060 http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/MS06-007.mspx I have also tried this (modify MTU size on server) http://www.howtonetworking.com/Troubleshooting/2003sp1a.htm I have also lowered the MTU size on both routers to 600 and it still does not work. I have no other firewalls, I have even tried to log onto a windows 2000 server that is at the remote end and I get the same issue both with files access or RDP. Nothing has helped yet any ideas will be greatly appreciated Here is a pic of the ethereal log the rdp client is 192.168.1.200 and the server is 192.168.0.200 http://www.petri.co.il/forums/attachment.p...mp;d=1150891115
  4. Ok thanks for that, I have a Dual 512/512 for the VPN link, I will promote the remote server to a DC and setup DNS replication on it and set it as another global cat server, this should give me redundancy if the link goes down right. Thanks
  5. I have just setup a new domain with a 2003 server as the PDC and a 2000 server as the TS server, now I have setup replication for active directory and DNS on this TS server, I have also made this server a global catalog server, is there anything else I need to do to Make this a Backup Domain Controller (DHCP or other things)? If the time comes and the PDC dies does the secondary automatically take over the domain logging on, DNS and so on ? or do I have to do soemthing to tell it to ? Second question, I have a third server running windows 2003, it will be at a different site to this server but connected via a permenant VPN link, I have no firewalls on the VPN and full access through the tunnel is ok, I can ping the PDC and BDC from server three, Can I just DCpromo this like normal, and replicate the active directory ? I would assume I dont replicate the DNS do I as it is from a different subnet or do I set this up the same as the TS server and the 1 DNS will house the records for both subnets and 3 servers, will this also make this third server a backup domain controller for the remote location.
  6. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I cant access the linked table manager each time I try to run this I get this error 'Microsoft Office Access cant find the wizerd, or the wizard has not been installed, or there is a syntax error in the Declarations section of Visual Basic module" then it says "the wizard you need may be missing from the libraries key of the microsot office access section of the windows registry, or the wizards have been disabled. To make sure that the wizard is in the windows registry, run setup to reinstall microsoft office access and then compile all visual basic modules in the database. To reenable the wizard click about microsoft office on the help menu, and then click the disabled items to view a list of addins which you can enable" Now Access 2003 is installed as part of office pro, nothing is disabled, the additional wizards are installed. I have removed access and resintalled access same issue, I cant run a detect and repair as it asks for a cab file that is not on the CD, upon research I have found this is common and the cab file is no where, the only solution they suggested was complete reinstall of office, this does not work for me as I have stacks of terminal service clients using Outlook and I cant remove Office and have to setup each user up again. Now even if I did remove this and reinstall I am not 100% sure it will fix the access problem, can someone help me please, I have also noticed I cannot open add in manager or swicth board manager, the same error comes up. This is Office 2003 Pro on server 2003 standard. cheers all
  7. I have setup an automated PXE/ghost imaging system that runs everynight, my problem is I have 16 computers and as you all know the XP 10 inbound connection limit has stopped me from using it. I have a SBS2003 server in the same location, now my problem is I have used Barts Network Boot disk to get the network side of it happening and I have setup net use to connect to my mapped drive and get the images and then ghost, this all works fine off XP (but onl;y 10 machines) with server 2003 I cant get the net use to connect to the server, it keeps asking for password and no mater what username or password I use it does not work i have used all net use commands eg. net use M: \\image\images "password" it does not recognise the password section, its like it is a cut down version. even if I setup the domain in the barts profiule section i cannot get it to connect, is there anyway of turning security off the server or anything to allow a normal server access, security is not a problem as this is on an internal network not connected to the net. thanks all
