ok well i have decided to not go with sli. Could you guys help me with one more thing. all i want to be able to do is buy somthing and just shove the pieces together and then turn on the computer and it works. i dont know how to o/c and i really dont care. I just want to be able to play half life 2 on full graphics on 1024X768. Could i guys give you my computer specs and you guys choose a good motherboard and psu to go with it to play this stuff. I dont want an over pricy psu or mobo. Remeber im not getting sli meaning the psu just has to take one graphics card. Im thinking of buy a 7800gtx 512 in the future too so i want an alright psu. I've tried getting the ocz in australia but it just wont come out. My comp: cpu - AMD Athlon 64 3700+ Processor SAN DIEGO Mobo - yet to be decided Harddisk - Seagate 120gb sata 2 Ram - i've got one ddr400 512 and one 256 ddr400. When looking on the internet about all the different hardrives i came across somthing i dont understand. Shich is better whith the ms thingy in all hard drives is lower better or is higher. Segate had 11ms WD had 8.9ms Hitachi had 8.8ms what does that mean??

well what im really looking for in my computer is to plug everything in and turn it on and it will last me about 2- 3 years before i need to upgrade somthing. I dont know how to overclock and what are the posotives and sideaffects to it. Dont forget im a little nervous building my first computer from scratch so i hope it turns out all right.

Whats the difference between these two motherboard except for two graphics cards. I want to know every little bit that is a difference. which one is better and why except sli i dont care about having two graphics cards? Socket 939, E3 Venice Core, 200Mhz FSB, 512KB L2 Cache 2.2ghz - $319 Is it really worth the extra 512mb cache for $50. Will this help me with my gaming the extra 512? I need to know if it will increase by alot or by nothing because i want to buy very soon Thankyou

in bios when the cdwr is in it wont even be able to see the drive but it still works when the cdrw is disconnected. I was going through the modes and it had aptai or somthing like that and that is the model of my cd drive would that help if i changed it to that?

Hi i am selling my computer box for $250 to my aunt. But before i do that i was going to take out my dvd-cdrw combo drive out and replace it with another one. I have 2 cd-drives in at the time and the were both working fine and windows could detect them. So i took out my dvd-drive combo and installed a different cdrw drive, i put it with the same configuration and same place as my dvd drive. But my comp will only detect my cdwr drive and not the other. I thought i might have stuffed up the cables on the first driveSo i pulled out the cables at the back of the cdrw drive to see if it sees the other drive. It worked so it wasn't the cd-drive. I connected the cdrw drive back up and the same thing happend it could only detect the cdwr drive and not the other one. I dont know what the problem is. i've tried looking at device manager and add hardware and all thoughs hardware support stuff and it still doesn't regester my drive is in and pluged in. I can still put cds in there but they wont play. Its as if the cdwr drive takes the whole cord to it self. I used to be able to put both drives the dvd copmbo and the cd drive on one cord but it dosen't seem to work with the cdrw drive. PLz help Thanks

well i hope mine wont die either then... i'm debating weather to add $100Aus to get the DFI CROSSFIRE LanParty UT RDX200-DR where it says ati does that mean it would work better with ati products rather then the nvidia geforce 7800gt

or i might get the DFI LanParty UT eXpert

well then you recommend me a better motherboard that dosen't cost more than $250(aus) and that has better specs and takes socket 939 and still can somone tell me if sli is better then 1 if you only have one card

I have a choice between motherboards. They are 3 dollars difference and the only tdifference about them is one is sli and the other is not. I was think for going for the sli one because...well obviously 2 graphic cards are better then 1 but while i was reading its specs it said: Use 2 SLI-ready PCI Express x16 graphics cards (use identical cards) on the PCI Express x16 slots. In SLI mode, the bandwidth of each x16 slot works at the bandwidth of x8. When the graphics cards are connected via the SLI bridge, it runs at x16 bandwidth And the other one is just one pci-e 16x. With the sli one i wont be able to get both graphic cards at the same time because im going for the 7800gt. if i get one sli 7800gt is that better then the normal motherboard of one normal 7800gt.
